Snow, possibly freezing rain on the way

Special Weather Statement from Environment Canada and The Weather Network:

5 to 10 cm of snow tonight into Friday.

Snow is forecast to begin falling late this afternoon with general snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm by the time the snow begins to taper off Friday morning into afternoon. The snow will also become mixed with freezing drizzle Friday morning and afternoon.

Motorists should be prepared for reductions to visibility and poor winter travelling conditions this evening into Friday. The Friday morning commute could be particularly slow and messy

Today:  mainly cloudy with scattered flurries this afternoon.  Wind east 20 km/h.  High minus 2.

Tonight:  periods of snow, 2-4 cm, risk of freezing rain after midnight.  Wind east 25-40 km/h. Low minus 3.

Tomorrow:  scattered flurries. 1-3 cm.  Wind northeast 25 km/h.  High minus 1 (low minus 4)

Saturday:  a mix of sun and clouds.  High plus one, low minus 8.

Sunday:  cloudy with snow developing, possibly 5-10 cm.  Northeast wind 15 km/h.  High minus 4, low minus 8.

Monday-Christmas Day-scattered flurries.  1-3 cm.  Wind west 35 km/h.  High minus 4, low minus 14.

Tuesday-Boxing Day-cold with flurries. About 3 cm.  Wind west 30 km/h.  High minus 11, low minus 17.
