Tugboat catches fire in Port Dover

A earky 1900’s boat in disrepair caught fire in Port Dover yesterday (Wednesday).

The “Jiggs” was fully involved by the time firefighters arrived at the Harry Gamble Shipyard.

Firefighters faced a challenge navigating their way through scrap vehicles and other waste items that have accumulated over the years.

However, with the assistance of an excavator, the fire was extinguished in about an hour.

There’s no word on the cause of the fire.
