Another coyote attack in Hamilton-area

For the second time in less than a month, a coyote attack has left a pet owner reeling in the Hamilton-area.

A Stoney Creek woman was walking Joey on a retractable leash when a coyote snatched the chihuahua-pomeranian cross on the beach strip.

The attack comes less than a month after a goldendoodle named Holly was killed by a pack of coyotes on the Bruce Trail.

On October 25th, a 10-year-old boy escaped injury when a coyote jumped him from behind on the Waterfront Trail.

Despite the recent attacks, the Ministry of Natural Resources says coyote numbers haven’t increased substantially in recent years or are more aggressive.
