Bill Gates talks toilet

Former Microsoft chairman Bill Gates is plugging a toilet that doesn’t use water and converts waste into energy.

The billionaire philanthropist kicked off a “Reinvented Toilet” Expo in Beijing telling the audience the technologies on display represent the most significant advances in sanitation in nearly 200 years.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has spent more than 200-million dollars promoting research and development of safe sanitation technology, trying to prevent the sewage contamination-related deaths of about 480-thousand children each year.
