Brant County is recruiting firefighters

Brant County is recruiting firefighters.

Acting Fire Chief Geoff Hayman says they’re looking for people to join who have a strong desire to be part of the community, can meet the physical requirements and are dedicated to their team and the ongoing training.

He says the work can range from fighting fires, attending other emergency calls and teaching fire safety.
Hayman says due to the nature of the job, the interested applicant must go through a thorough screening process that includes written, physical and mental tests, interviews and reference checks.

Once the candidate is accepted into the Fire Department, he says they must pass a Recruit Training Program, then serve as a probationary Firefighter for one year.

And after achieving the required milestones during the first year, a probationary Firefighter may be accepted as a full member.

Information nights will be held on January 15 and 23, 2019 at 7:30 pm, located at the Fire Administration Building at 61 Dundas St. E. Paris, ON.
