Brant County resumes normal waste collection Monday

Normal garbage and recycling collection resumes Monday in Brant County.

The County is asking residents to place their trash in a cleared area near the end of their driveway, due to the snow.

The curbside limit has been increased to eight bags until January 19th.

There have been collection delays due to recent heavy snow and bitterly cold temperatures.

Here is the latest update on waste collection from the County as of yesterday (January 11th):

The County of Brant will resume the normal waste collection schedule (including garbage and recycling) on Monday, January 15, 2018. If your area has been collected, please remove any waste currently at the roadside.

You will receive one (1) collection this week, as outlined in the schedule:

Thursday Collection Area

Collection area completed. Next collection date is Thursday, January 18.

Friday Collection Area

Thursday, January 11, 2018 andcontinue into Friday, January 12, 2018.

Additional important information:

· Please place your waste in a cleared area near the end of your driveway.

· The curbside set out limit is increased to eight bags until January 19, 2018.

· Up to eight regular curbside household waste containers and unlimitedrecyclable materials can be taken to the landfill or transfer station, at no cost,until January 19, 2018.

· Christmas tree collection dates will be posted on Friday, January 12, 2018.

· Christmas trees can be taken to the transfer station and landfill at no charge.

The Paris Waste Transfer and Recycling Station, located at 40 Railway Street, Paris, is open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The Biggars Lane Landfill Site, located at 128 Biggars Lane East of Mount Pleasant, isopen Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 4:00pm.
