Brant hires new acting MOH

The Brant County Health Unit’s Acting Medical Officer brings experience and knowledge of the region to her new position.

In a release, the board of health says Dr. Elizabeth Urbantke brings with her over 20 years of experience from her previous roles as an emergency physician, the Chief of Woodstock General Hospital’s emergency department, an Investigating and Inquest Coroner, and Acting Medical Officer of Health for Oxford County and Haldimand-Norfolk Health Units.

She received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Toronto in 1995, finished her residency in family and emergency medicine at the University of British Columbia in 1998, and is currently is completing her Masters of Public Health at the University of Waterloo.

Dr. Urbantke will be joining the Health Unit on September 3rd, as a Public Health Physician, transitioning to Acting Medical Officer of Health on October 1st.
