Churchill Park coyotes will be relocated

A family of coyotes will be relocated after a dog was attacked and his owner chased at Churchill Park in Cambridge.

The coyote, believed to be the mom, chased the Jack Russell Terrier and his owner after two pups came out of the woods on Sunday.

The city has contacted the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and says a qualified professional is expected to remove the coyotes from Churchill Park and relocate them to another area.

Coyote Watch Canada and The Fur-Bearers object to the relocation and say humans should learn to co-exist with the animals.

City Officials say people should use caution if they’re near Churchill Park.
