Coffee study will perk you up

A study says drinking coffee comes attached with a seven per cent decreased risk of developing heart failure and an eight per cent decreased risk of stroke compared to drinking no coffee at all.

Using data from a pivotal study researchers at the University of Colorado School of Medicine found this apparent link, which remained even after taking other risk factors like blood pressure, age and cholesterol levels into account.

The researchers also looked at two other major studies to confirm the apparent association between coffee, heart failure and stroke.

The study is in Scientific Sessions.
