Coyotes reportedly attack homeless man in Stratford

A homeless man living in a makeshift campsite in Stratford was reportedly attacked by two coyotes early yesterday morning.

The 43 year old man suffered cut and bite marks to his legs, arms and head and received more than 100 stitches to close his wounds.

Police initially thought the attack was committed by two German Shepherds used to guard a cannabis operation that had escaped but the dogs were located by the OSPCA and showed no signs of any aggression.

Police acknowledge there are coyotes in the area but that the odds of them attacking a person are low.
