Driver lucky to be alive after collision near Brantford

Provincial Police say a truck driver is very, very lucky to be alive following a frightening collision on Highway 403 at King George Road.

Constable Ed Sanchuk says around 8:30 this (Wednesday) morning, a flatbed truck hauling a vehicle – believed to be a tow truck – experience mechanical trouble with the right front tire.

The truck veered off the highway, smashed through a sound barrier wall and landed in someone’s back yard, just inches from a tree.

Sanchuk says the truck driver, who suffered only minor injuries, walked away from the collision and was talking with paramedics and firefighters.

Sanchuk says motorists can expect delays on the 403 westbound at the Highway 24-King George Road exit.

One westbound lane remains closed.
