Gas prices down another 2-cents

Gas prices range from $1.11-$1.26 a litre as of 3:30 a-m.

The average price is expected to drop by 2 cents a litre to about $1.17 a litre.

Brantford, Brant:  $1.09-$1.16

Hamilton: $1.09-$1.24

Burlington:$1.12-$1.20

Milton: $1.10-$1.16

Oakville: $1.12-$1.24

Kitchener-Waterloo: $1.15-$1.20

Cambridge: $1.11-$1.20

Welland-Niagara Falls-Thorold-St. Catharines-Grimsby: $1.14-$1.19

Simcoe/Dunnville: $1.18

Tillsonburg, Ingersoll, Woodstock: $1.13-$1.28

London: $1.12-$1.19

Benchmark U-S crude is up 27 cents this morning to $52.81 U-S per barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The September contract gained $1.45 in trading yesterday to settle at $52.54

The Canadian dollar is trading overseas this morning at 75.61 cents U-S, up 18 -100ths of a cent from yesterday’s average value of 75.43.

North American stock markets surged to rebound from dramatic losses that started the week over the trade war between the U.S. and China.

The S&P/TSX composite index was up for a third straight day, up 139.31 points at 16,404.53. In New York, the Dow Jones industrial average was up 371.46 points at 26,378.53. The S&P 500 index was ahead 54.13 points at 2,938.11, while the Nasdaq composite was up 176.33 or 2.24 per cent to 8,039.16.
