Gas prices steady to start week

Gas prices range from .86 to $1.06 a litre as of 4 0’clock this morning.

Oakville, Mississauga: .95-$1.05

Kitchener-Waterloo:  .94-$1.05

Cambridge: .90-$1.05

Welland-Niagara Falls-Thorold-St. Catharines-Grimsby: .99-$1.05

Simcoe: .98

Dunnville: .91

Woodstock: .91

Tillsonburg, Ingersoll: .93

London: .86-.93

The Canadian dollar is trading overseas this morning at 75.34 cents U-S, down 0.04 of a cent.

The February crude contract was down $1 at US$51.59 per barrel.

The rally for Canada’s main stock index continued for a sixth straight day as it posted its best weekly performance in more than three years.

The S&P/TSX composite index closed up 35.69 points to 14,939.18.

In New York, the Dow Jones industrial average lost 5.97 points at 23,995.95.

The S&P 500 index was down 0.38 of a point at 2,596.26, while the Nasdaq composite was down 14.59 points at 6,971.48.
