Grand Erie Schools are being applauded for promoting the health and well-being of their students.
Eleven public and secondary schools received their Healthy Schools Certification from the Ontario Physical and Health Education Association or OPHEA, this year – up from 7 last year.
Earning gold are Burford District Elementary, Central Public, Houghton, J.L Mitchener, North Ward and Ryerson Heights Elementary Schools.
Four received their silver certification including Jarvis Public, Pauline Johnson Collegiate and Vocational, Walter Gretzky Elementary and Waterford District High Schools.
Major Ballachey Public earned a participant certification.
