Guelph building evacuated

The all-clear has been given after a suspicious package was found at the ServiceOntario building in Guelph.

A police spokesperson says they learned about the suspicious package at 1 Stone Road around 9:30 this morning, and decided to bring in a specialist to ensure there was no public safety risk.

When police couldn’t determine what the package was, officers evacuated the building at 11 0’clock as a precaution.

By noon, a hazmat team removed the package and people were allowed to return to the building while investigators determined the contents.
