Hamilton police are looking for help from the public after an increase in shootings since the start of the year.
They say there have been eight shootings in the city since January 1st, with just three shootings compared to the same time frame last year.
There were a pair of shootings last weekend: Cutts Crescent and Pumpkin Pass on Saturday and Sunday at Stone Church Road East and Upper Wellington Street — no injuries in either incident.
The one fatal shooting occurred January 30th on Mountain Brow Boulevard.
Police say they have increased patrols in response to the increase and are in the midst of launching a task force to address gun violence and drug trafficking.
They want anyone with information to come forward to help them solve these crimes.
