Kitchener man charged in sexual assault case

A Kitchener man has been arrested after a young boy was sexually assaulted Wednesday night.

Waterloo Regional Police say the boy was walking on the sidewalk along Westmount Road between Victoria Street and Highland Road when he was inappropriately touched by a stranger.

A 31-year-old man is charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.

Police say the case is not linked to a sexual assault of a young girl at an apartment complex in the Brybeck Crescent neighbourhood last Saturday.

The male suspect is about 6-feet tall with a medium build.

He was wearing a white baseball hat and grey striped T-shirt.
