Laurier marks grim anniversary

Laurier University is marking a grim day in Canadian history.

On December 6, 1989, 14 women were murdered and 10 others were wounded at Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal.

On this National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, several events took place at both the Waterloo and Brantford campuses.

A drop-in community gathering for people of all genders was held in the lobby at 150 Dalhousie Street.

And a workshop to help those build their own self-care kit takes place from 3:30 to 5:30 in the Diversity and Equity Office.

A vigil will be held at 6 in the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Chapel on Queen Street in Kitchener.
