Leafs top Stars; BoSox eliminate Yankees

Auston Matthews is starting the season on the right track.

He scored twice to bring his goal total to seven in four games and the Toronto Maple Leafs downed the Stars 7-4 in Dallas.

John Tavares also scored two for Toronto and Mitch Marner had a goal and three assists.

The Boston Red Sox advanced to the American League Championship Series. And a video replay confirmed it. Boston held off a Yankees rally in the ninth inning and got a contested ground ball out at first base to end the game as the Red Sox beat New York 4-3 in Game 4 of the A-L-D-S.
