After dropping their final game of the season and ending the year with a 40-27-15 (meaning they lost 2 more games than they won in the end) the Toronto Maple Leafs are still heading into the post season. That final loss however has cost them as they will be facing the #1 team the Washington Capitals instead of the #4 Ottawa Senators. They also lost 3rd in the Atlantic, fortunately they had clinched at least the 2nd Wild Card by last night.
The Leafs head to the playoffs for the first time in four years, first since 2004 for a full 82 game season, on Wednesday night and will play the Capitals in the first of their series in Washington at 7. The winner of this series will go on to face the winner of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Columbus Blue Jackets series. See the bracket below.
