Dunnville’s new school has opened to rave reviews.
Classes began yesterday (Monday) at Mapleview Elementary School, which brings together students and staff from Fairview Avenue and Grandview Central in a more than 45-thousand square foot facility.
The energy-efficient, completely accessible school features 14 regular classrooms, three Kindergarten rooms, a Special Education room, an Early Years centre, Learning Commons with a media room, a double gym and elevator.
Kindergarten student Levi says “I like the gym the best because the balls won’t get stuck in the ceiling anymore”
And grade 5 student Shylloh says “It’s really cool that we have the privilege of being one of the first classes in this school…I’m most excited about… everything!”
The Grand Erie District School Board says students played a big part in getting ready for the move.
Together, they chose Mapleview’s team name (the Mustangs), named their new mascot (Mighty Mustang), and helped fill approximately 900 boxes that came with them to the new building.
