Norfolk OPP appealing to solve cold-case

Norfolk OPP are appealing for the public’s help in an investigation into a hit-and-run collision that left a 20-year-old Port Hope man dead seven years ago.

Police say Chad Everets was struck and killed by a vehicle on Cockshutt Road in Norfolk County on May 14th of 2011.

The O-P-P says the vehicle that struck Everets never stopped and left the scene of the collision that occurred around 5:17 a-m. following a Port Dover Friday the 13th event.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen Everets or a suspect vehicle to contact police.

They say they are seeking two vehicles in connection with the collision: a GM, Oldsmobile or Pontiac model built between 2000 to 2003, and a silver, metallic or beige Ford Mercury model from the years of 1984 to 1994. The vehicles would have had damage to the under carriage.    (Lisa Whitnel)
