The province will appoint a supervisor to manage Brant Family and Children’s Services.
The move comes as the 11 member board voted to resign en masse effective tomorrow (Friday) after several years of warnings about funding cuts from the Ontario government.
A spokesperson for the Minister of Children, Community and Social Services said in a statement the government is fully committed to supporting the staff at Brant FACS. and that is why the government will appoint a supervisor to operate and manage the affairs, so services are transitioned seamlessly.
Brant receives around $24 million a year from the province and has an accumulated debt of $3-million.
