Police Continue to Receive Complaints for AMBER Alerts

Provincial Police are reminding the public that calling 9-1-1 to complain about Amber Alerts is not an appropriate action.

An Amber Alert was activated around 3am this morning for two young brothers and their grandfather.

Toronto police directly credit the system for helping them locate the boys and their grandfather safe and sound.

Provincial Police say of the five Amber Alerts this year, four assisted in the safe return of a child or children and one with the apprehension of a suspect.

The OPP say they recognize the inconvenience the Alert may have caused but will not apologize for using all the tools available to help locate a child.
