Six youths in custody after Milton high school lockdown

Six youths have been arrested and two firearms recovered following a chase and lockdown at Milton’s Bishop Reding Secondary School.

Halton Regional Police say the incident began shortly before noon behind the high school, where victims reported being chased by a group of male teens, one with a firearm.

The chase continued to nearby Lions Sports Park and wound up back at Bishop Reding, where a lockdown was put in place.

A police investigation led to two firearms – one a replica – and a knife being seized.

Seven male youths were detained, one of whom being later released.
