Three Fires Homecoming Pow Wow & Traditional Gathering

 

The Three Fires Homecoming Pow Wow & Traditional Gathering offers a distinctly unique experience, with less of a focus on competition and a stronger focus on the social and cultural education aspects of the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation.

In this edition of “In Conversation With…”, host Rob Curwain welcomes Caroline King, Co-Chair of the New Credit Cultural Committee, to discuss this year’s Three Fires Homecoming Pow Wow & Traditional Gathering.

​Topics covered in the program include: What is a Pow Wow? Why is the drum such an integral part of the Pow Wow? What is the significance of the three fires? Are there any rules or etiquette to follow at a Pow Wow? What events and vendors can we expect to see at this year’s gathering?
