There is a large Canadian presence at this prestigious competition – the Olympics of canine shows.
Ten-year-old Inuk, a record-holding champion from Caledon, is among more than 100 Canadian dogs competing this week at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York.
Inuk has been the top American Eskimo in Canada for 10 consecutive years, previously won eight best in breed titles and was awarded the title of “select dog” last year, for a second-place showing.
One of the judges selecting best-in-show dog is Stephen Dainard, a Niagara mortgage agent. Dainard has been judging for past 15 years, but today (Tuesday) will be his first time at the Westminster show.
