Waterloo has a reason for freezin’

Waterloo Regional Police members are taking the plunge for Special Olympics.

Spokesperson Cherri Greeno says the service will host its first-ever Polar Plunge on January 26th and 27th at Waterloo Park during Winterloo festivities.

She says the service is calling on the community to take part in the plunge, which is a signature provincial event of the Law Enforcement Torch run initiative benefiting Special Olympics Ontario.

Greeno says Plungers can either pay the registration fee or fundraise the minimum requirement to take part in the event.

The goal is $3,000.
