Waterloo Regional Police are reminding the public that 911 should only be called in emergency situations.
Police issued the reminder after receiving several complaints stemming from Monday’s Amber Alert.
The alert was issued for a missing Sudbury boy, who has since been located safe-and-sound in a condominium in Toronto.
The Amber Alert was deployed about 5:00 a.m. and prompted more than ten calls to police.
A police spokesperson says calls ranged from people being annoyed about being woken up to those unhappy that their t-v viewing was disrupted.
