Gas prices stready as oil tumbles

Gas prices range from $1.15-$1.26 a litre as of 4 a-m. 

The average price remains at $1.26 a litre according to ontariogasprices.com

Hamilton: $1.14-$1.26

Burlington and Waterdown: $1.18-$1.26

Milton: $1.17-$1.26

Oakvillw-Mississauga:  $1.18-$1.26

Kitchener-Waterloo: $1.18-$1.26

Cambridge:  $1.13-$1.26

Welland-Niagara Falls-Thorold-St. Catharines-Grimsby: $1.17-$1.26

Simcoe: $1.23

Caledonia: $1.15-$1.25

Tillsonburg: $1.18

Woodstock and Ingersoll: $1.20-$1.26

London: $1.17-$1.24

The world price of oil is down $2.22 to $56.59 per barrel.

The Canadian dollar is trading overseas this morning at 73.93 cents U-S.

Canada’s main stock index lost more ground on a big dip in the energy sector prompted by oil falling to its lowest level in three-months.

The S&P/TSX composite index closed down 42.23 points at 16,089.24.

In New York, the Dow Jones industrial average was up 43.47 points at 25,169.88.

The S&P 500 index was up 5.84 points at 2,788.86, while the Nasdaq composite was up 20.41 points at 7,567.72.
