GRCA parks open Wednesday

It may not feel like spring – yet- but Grand River Conservation Authority parks are set to open for another season.
Opening on Wednesday are Byng Island (Dunnville), Brant (Brantford), Conestogo Lake (Drayton), and Elora Gorge.
Belwood Lake (east of Fergus), Guelph Lake, Rockwood, Laurel Creek (Waterloo), Shade’s Mills (Cambridge) and Pinehurst Lake (Paris) are already open for activities, but will now be providing their full range of services such as canoe and boat rentals.
Elora Quarry will open on June 1.
The GRCA says May 1 is also a big day for those still looking for Hillside Festival campsites.
Full-weekend festival sites are available at Guelph Lake Conservation Area beginning on Wednesday.
