More non-emergency 9-1-1 calls

A sure bet these incidents will make it to the OPP’s list of most exasperating 9-1-1 calls.

Oxford County OPP received an emergency call Saturday morning after a raccoon was observed walking down the side of the road.

And it wasn’t the first time, as a police spokesman says they are being inundated with calls from people spotting raccoons during the day.

Constable Ed Sanchuk says there’s no need to contact 9-1-1 and if homeowners have issues with raccoons on their property, they need to call a private animal removal service.

On Friday night, Oxford OPP received two dropped emergency 9-1-1 calls from an Ingersoll address

Officers arrived at the address and determined that there was no emergency however a 27-year-old London woman inside the residence that called 9-1-1 was wanted on an outstanding warrant and was taken into custody.
