St. George AppleFest Cancels 2020 Event St. George, Ontario – At their monthly meeting on Thursday, June 18th, the Directors of St. George AppleFest agreed to cancel AppleFest for 2020. This year’s event was to have been held on September 19th and 20th. As COVID-19 concerns and restrictions on mass gatherings remain in place for the foreseeable future, the Committee determined that for the safety of all, it would not be possible to host the event.
“The Board, who along with the volunteers who annually dedicate a great deal of passion, time, and hard work to deliver this community celebration is saddened to make this announcement,” said Festival Chair, Tom Pate.
Festivals and events are woven into the fabric of community life. They bring social, economic, and cultural benefits to our communities. St. George AppleFest is appreciative of the many people – guests, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, service providers, community groups and entertainers for their ongoing support.
“To keep the spirit of the festival alive, we have been working on a ‘Virtual AppleFest’. Stay tuned to see details of exciting things to come like entertainment, education, and online access to our vendors.” said Festival Coordinator, Jean Tucker.
